Cool post, mel.
Khalid’s picture is hilarious, I laughed out loud.
Also the er.. “decoration” is utterly bizarre. It looks like someone scalped Little Miss Muffet or something. o-O]]>
Always glad to show ppl the funny and the bizarre.]]>
mmm…strawberry liqueur? Sounds sweet. Now a Strawberry Margarita sounds heavenly! Perhaps you should have mixed the two?
For all that (4kg of veggies) I paid 90SP3.
Khalid asked Debbie if she had ever heard of “In Iraq sex is like snow”, which she had. Before she could say anything else he added that this was a really horrible blog, wasn’t it?
Horrible man! Poor Debbie and poor Caesar!
Obviously, I packed.
Including what was left over from the salt, pepper and curry I had bought, and the insanely fresh garlic, the latter of which I wrapped into various layers of plastic so it would not be smelled out.
All delicious spices. I love curry. There’s this wonderful Chinese restaurant close by that serves a great Curry Chicken. Yes, yes, I know, you would probably prefer it chickenless.
Great post, Mel.]]>
Yea! Bad Iraqi fella, Khalid!]]>
But you didn’t mention why u had to drink the two margarita glasses?]]>
It was kinda priceless though, watching Debbie’s face…..
But, yes, evil, horrible, Khalid.
Darned towelheads! *mumbles*
Well, the info is all there, Caesar, for those who truly read the bit about the margaritas and don’t skip through it.]]>
Was someone being naughty?
A nice Rum and Coke would have been a better sample. Or a Long Island Ice Tea. I always think of that drink as Lemonade on steroids.]]>

Hm. My two favourite and worst drinks are there in that one sentence.]]>
@ Lynnette: Naughty? Who was being naughty? No-one I know, for sure….
Hmmmmmm, rum & coke…..
@ Pandora: Here, have a margarita….]]>
We really have to talk about your alcohol consumption one of these days…..]]>
I would really need to have some fried pork sausage in the peppers, zucchinis, and onions.
Well, with all that strawberry liqueur, its no wonder you stopped writing in your diary!
The wall decoration looks like something made to brighten up a baby’s room.
Khalid looks pretty pissed off in that picture. So, what was he so upset about?
Cola and orange soda sounds really nasty!
I don’t really care much for margaritas either. My favorite drink is Kahlua and cream. Vodka with any fruit juice is pretty good too.
I hope that cabbie didn’t charge you for the time he spent drinking his tea! But, I suppose its better to have a fully caffeinated cabbie than a sleepy one.]]>
Why wouldn’t you eat baba ghanoush for dinner? If I eat an appetizer I’m mostly full when the entrée arrives anyway, although I suppose it depends on the size and number of appetizers.
Btw, I thought that Mezzo Mix was Coke + Fanta? I suppose that Fanta is technically “orange” pop, but I imagine you’d say Fanta if that were what it was?]]>
@ David: Pffff, meat eaters.
And the alcohol had nothing to do with my diary, grrr.
Lol, Khalid wasn’t upset; no-one knows why he made that face.
And Mezzo Mix is teh yum!!!
@ Frans: Well, for the average meat eating Arab someone eating one of the cheapest and most picturesque (camel riding Arab in tent) appetizers for dinner is apparently highly amusing.
Well, I tend to call it coke and Fanta mix, but if you actually mix the two you just can’t get the Mezzo Mix taste.]]>
Great info. Lucky me I recently found your site by chance (stumbleupon).
I have saved it for later!
Melantrys’ Page » Blog Archive » Trip to Damascus - pt. 5 Stunning story there. What occurred after? Good luck!
