*sniff, sniff*

“Damn, why is this flower so much smaller than the others…?”

bzzzzzzzzzz

“Another of those weird small ones…”
.
Aren’t bumblebees cute…?

Hey, your bumblebees look a lot different from mine! Fun to watch where ever they are buzzing though.
Nice macro shots.

Talking about insects, I saw one of these butterflies today drinking nectar from some flowers. Tiger swallowtails are usually yellow and black, but some of the females, like this one, are very dark in color. The dark phase tiger is one of my favorites.

They are indeed, Sis.

Well that answers my question. A flower garden. Pretty flowers, Mel. I love that color. And bumble bees are great as long as they don’t sting you.

All of you.. Wish us (our national soccer team) the best of luck!
DOWN WITH SPAMMERS!

Soccer blows.

July 20th, 2007 at 8:46 am

July 20th, 2007 at 9:22 am
You unbanned me, you unbanned me!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

July 20th, 2007 at 11:33 am
Congratulations to Iraqi soccer team! Hurray!

Soccer blows.
Wet blanket!
(i just proved myself to be as Un-Iraqi as humanly possible. sigh. i hate freaking team sports. pointless)
But, what about all that male bonding that goes on?
*whispers softly* Not that I am really into soccer myself you understand, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to give you grief about something.
But, don’t worry, I only pick on people I like…and who have a sense of humor.
Congratulations to the Iraqi soccer team on a job well done!
Mel,
Are you still digging? Well don’t feel bad, I have to go out and pick beans this afternoon. Ohhhhh all that bending and kneeling! Makes one feel like a pretzel.
July 20th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
I miss “achoo”.

@ David: The bigger they are the absurder they look/sound. And the huge ones definitely don’t look like they should be able to fly.
Sometimes aerodynamics just look away…. maybe because they’re bent double with laughter.
Thank you, thank you, although the results are more luck than anything else, as it was windy and the damned critter was moving about of course.
@ Mafdet: Yup.
@ Lynnette: Well, that shrub is in our front garden. We do have a vegetable garden outside of the greenhouse too though.
Do they sting at all? I think when a bumblebee notices that it’s in a situation that requires stinging someone it’s already half an hour after that situation actually occurred.
@ Caesar:
Let’s keep this a sports free zone. I’m still recovering from watching soccer with you… Although the short movies of your enthusiastic watching did entertain my sister today….
@ 13: *pats*
@ Mafdet: You’re welcome… I suppose….
@ Lynnette: I’m not digging, I was weeding. Those damn things grow like… well… weeds… Still catching up on the time I lost while being away on holiday.
No beans yet in our garden.
I’ll cook some more or less fresh okras tomorrow…. my colleague brought some from his holiday in Turkey. (Bamya, Caesar, bamya…)
Um, are you just feeling like a pretzel or looking like one? If it’s the latter I wanna see pics!
@ Frenzie: No pic that would have suggested so.
July 21st, 2007 at 7:50 pm
*sigh* Not many beans in our garden, either, between the rabbit and the almost drought like conditions here.
July 21st, 2007 at 11:55 pm
Male bonding? i never understood what’s so hot about that.. seriously, i’d rather bond with a girl, better looking, better hygiene, much better overall i guess
regarding team sports, i understand AND RESPECT the skill, the coordination, the “wolf pack” attitude, but come on, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
IMO, team-based sports are just another way of letting eleventyone people have First prize. and thus causing a degradation of values, what it means to truly be NUMBER ONE!!!11! and eventually the collapse of civilization as we know it.
or something close to that anyway
July 21st, 2007 at 11:56 pm
and btw, i was kidding up there. i am not insane, merely touched, is all
July 22nd, 2007 at 7:58 pm
Or maybe just deliriously happy?
All kidding about male bonding aside, I think there is a place for team sports. Sometimes things take a group effort and learning to work with people in a group, through sports, may help later in life. Individual efforts certainly have there place, in fact, you sound very…er…American!
But, at the risk of sounding like Hilary, sometimes it takes a village.

Anarki, “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!”
I watched the 6 DVD Best of Highlander set this past week. I loved that series! Amazing stuff at my public library! I really dig Methos.
July 23rd, 2007 at 12:04 pm
Yes, he’s coooool.
July 25th, 2007 at 10:31 am
I must sue you, Mel! You threatend my privacy! Hehehehe!
Mafdet! Iraq is gonna play the semi-final this noon. What have you seen in the video is nothing compared 2 what I shall do today when I’ll watch the match on TV.
July 26th, 2007 at 9:51 am
Go Iraqi Team Go!!

“Male bonding? i never understood what’s so hot about that.. seriously, i’d rather bond with a girl, better looking, better hygiene, much better overall”
Says a lot about the repressed desires of the person who said it. Do what Mr. Garrison did. thank you.
July 30th, 2007 at 10:34 pm
Yeeeeeaaaaaaaah! We’ve done it! Iraq won the Asian title for the first time! Congratulations, Iraqis!

July 31st, 2007 at 8:58 am
Congratulations Iraqi Team!
Too bad they can’t take the place of the Iraqi Parliament!
August 9th, 2007 at 10:40 pm
Fellas! Mel is currently offline because she has some problems with her PC. She is about to fix that and go online again. Let’s hope the best for her!
August 26th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
@13: I don’t know what type of guys you know, but the ones I know are plenty of clean.
September 11th, 2007 at 9:22 pm
hihi, es macht spaß ohne dein wissen an deinem privatleben teilzuhaben
*muahahaha* . Ich muss mal wieder vorbeischauen…
September 17th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
@ Lynnette: Beans have finally been harvested and eaten, and a few are still growing. But with the deteriorating weather conditions and threatened night frosts for some parts of Germany I guess they won’t be growing for much longer…
No true pretzel-Lynnette….
@ 13: Male bonding, dude, not sex…..
Oh, I don’t care whether soccer is one on one or eleven on eleven.
What I totally fail to bond with is this national team thing. “We” did not win/lose the cup; it was those overpaid professional sports ppl. And I couldn’t care less who wins what.
Merely touched, eh?
@ Lynnette: Muh?
@ David: Methos is so absolutely totally interesting!
And kinda cute.
@ Mafdet: Indeed.
@ Caesar: Well, sue me. You’d have to come here for that though.
Pity I wasn’t there to film you then, eh?
@ David:Muh.
@ Mafdet: Indeed again.
@ Yeah:
Was that comment supposed to make sense????
@ Caesar: Yay….
@ 13: Tch, tch.
@ David: Could only be an improvement.
@ Caesar: Muh?
@ Frenzie:
@ _lohrian: Wie, ohne mein Wissen? Bist du unter die Spanner gegangen?
And you dropped an “F”, dear.
