Definitely worth waiting for, Mel. :D

Hmmm...you go on vacation and buy...books? And I thought I was a bookworm. I've never met a bookstore I didn't like. :)

I don't think I would have tried that bridge either. Looks a little iffy to me.

Those stairs and that hill reminds me of the last time I was up at Gooseberry Falls here in Minnesota. The climb going down was more fun than the climb going up. :D

Do you leave soon for Syria?

Hi Mel, no worries about the photos. They loaded pretty easily. :)

Anarki! How did you create that bit of straw art? ;)

Wow, that amphitheatre still looks great! Do they still put on shows there?

Mel, I didn't know you were a spelunker! :)

The wierd insect looks like a Robber Fly. They are predators of other insects, actually catching them in mid air! Btw, they don't bite people, so these are actually very beneficial insects.

I'll come back later and give the text a thorough reading...too tired now.

well, David: a little bit of dexterity, mixed with equal parts lunacy and having nothing better to do :D

Anarki: What an impudent straw! ;)

Mel: Read the whole story. Those lizards were probably related to Bagdadi geckos. No wonder you couldn't catch them! ;)

Attawie (if you happen to read this): I think its great how you handled that greedy taxi driver! The utter gall of the man, thinking that you would call him for a further overcharging! Good for you! :)

@ Mafdet: :wait:

@Lynnette: I think if anybody ever needs a picture to go with the definition for "bookworm" they'll want one of my sis and me.
Hm. I've been to a lot of bookstores I wasn't happy with. From Poertgen & Herder who switched from selling original Pratchett's to selling the American editions (without the original covers that have just become a part of the books themselves, but instead with dreadful covers held in garish colours). So the American books are cheaper..... I don't care!
Loads of other book stores here have a foreign language shelf that holds 20 English books, seven of which are books pupils might need for school, like Shakespeare.

Hm, dunno, the bridge might have been yet another adventure... :D

Weird, I prefer climbing up to going down. It's so much easier to keep from slipping on the way up.

Syria? Soon, very soon indeed.
Although I guess I should stay home. ;) People are already worrying about me again.
Plus, I "nicely" bruised my knee today. Maybe Caesar will have to carry me around for the first half week or so.

@ David: :) Good photos.

It's his antiallergics.... They make him do weird things. ;)

Ah, they occasionally do put on shows there, I read.

Spelunker! Lol. Funny word. I actually had to look it up.
Do you know what a Spelunke (German) is? A bar or saloon with a bad reputation....

Hm, judging by the pics I have just been looking at on the net, that might indeed have been a Robber Fly. I still prefer الذبابة ذات الطيز الأحمر though.

@ 13: You are merely suffering from random fits of aggression against defenseless straws. Admit it!

@ David: He's just making that up.

Muh?

Well, maybe he thought we were too dumb to attract another taxi... ;)

Mel, a lot of seedy bars do resemble caves. ;)

Hey, I think Anarki is right about that straw. I saw the "finger" too! :D
