Jill Carroll is free!
Yes, I know it’s almost old news by now, but I only heard about it on my way home from work now.
For those who don’t know, Jill is an American journalist who had been kidnapped almost four months ago in Iraq.
I don’t know Jill, and I don’t even know Treasure of Baghdad or 24 Steps to Liberty, who often worked with her and are her friends, but I regularly read their blogs, and, well, if you do that, you start to care… I am so very happy to know she was let go today.

I was happy when I heard the news that Jill Caroll had been freed.
However, I am a bit concerned about her present state of mind. In her interview, she was almost complimentary toward her captors. These are the same people who murdered her interpreter! She has been through a very frightening ordeal. I think she will need some time and perhaps some help to put everything into perspective. I wish her the best!

Well, the question I have been entertaining is…. Do we know the people who held her and those who kidnapped her are the same? Or was she kidnapped by some “professionals” who sold her off to an interested party like it happened with the German woman who had been kidnapped?
Either way, I am quite sure she will need help after this experience, and, well, I am still glad she has been released and wish her all the best.
