A few more pictures from the trip
A bit of Black Forest
Unfortunately the better sights were along stretches of road without any parking spaces to pull over into. And you don’t just stop on a rather narrow and winding road.
You asked if my scars were healed already, David, well… here’s your answer.
Hhhhhhm, no real news.
Oh, I had some yummy eggplant, tomato, peperoni and leek soufflé today. Dunno if that counts as news though.

Well, at least your trip was free from snowy and icey roads. I imagine that mountain road can get quite treacherous after a winter storm!
Your cat scratches still look pretty red. I like a cat with well trimmed claws!
What’s in that pepperoni? Is it all vegetable? I have eaten regular pepperoni and turkey pepperoni, but I never saw any vegetable pepperoni. Mmmm, I could go for some pizza right now!

Well David, there are vegan copies of all kinds of meat-food, which can sometimes taste nice, but always so different that I don’t really see the point, but that might just be because I’m not vegan.
Personally I don’t think pepperoni should be called so if it doesn’t exist of pork, beef and lots of spices, but what the hell…

*sighs*
I was just trying to distinguish a bit. There’s a whole range of small hot and large unhot peppers, and all that is to find in the dictionary is… “pepper”. Right. Silly English language in that respect.
We have Paprika, 2 kinds of türkische (Turkish) Paprika, Peperoni and Chili. Oh, and Pfeffer, you know, the spice that’s called pepper as well.
It’s a vegetable. Peperoni is a vegetable; I was just hoping I’d be understood.
*cries*
red Peperoni
green Peperoni

It’s funny; those pictures look exactly like Asheville, NC. I don’t know why that should surprise me ….

*is pretty sure she didn’t leave Germany*
I don’t know, man, I think your writer friend thinks I’m racist…
January 30th, 2006 at 8:17 am
I don’t think she thinks that; I thought what you said in your post was pretty clear. I’m waiting for her to write a meatier response before I try to suss what she’s thinking.
January 31st, 2006 at 12:13 am
Well, I guess you were wrong there…
January 31st, 2006 at 4:01 am
Hrm … I still don’t think that’s what she’s thinking. She disagrees with your point, but I know her; she can tell the difference between a racist and someone she just disagrees with.
Anyway, I hope that doesn’t chase you away.
But more importantly: the cat is obviously a Force of Darkness. It appears you were lucky to escape with your life.

Hmmm, I never heard of peppers called peperoni! I thought you had just misspelled pepperoni.
From the pictures, those peppers look like they are very hot!
If somebody thinks Melantrys is a racist, I think they are wrong!

Yup, most of them are.
Thank you.

Nathan, the cat was just incredible. Evil, definitely at times. Force of Darkness… dunno.
I don’t think it will chase me away, but I don’t know how else to interpret especially the last comment, so I am not a happy person.

Well, okay … for what it’s worth, I talked to her on the phone and mentioned it, and she said she most definitely does not think you are a racist. She said there is a train of questions she likes to use when presented with that sort of argument, which she claims will lead the other person into realizing the flaw in their logic. Don’t know if it would have worked or not; just reporting what she told me. I’ve seen her engage people she thought of as racist, and it’s a whole different ballgame.
Anyway, sorry to take up space here on this subject. I was just afraid that if I posted this over there, you might never see it.

The only flaw I saw was her twisting everything I said into something altogether different. The words she put into my mouth were not what I had been saying!
And before trying to make me see my mistake… did she consider for a minute that I might have a point? And not just me, other ppl I talked to about this agree with what I said.
(I did drop by your blog since then though btw…)
