Some random work story…
… to - hopefully - keep my faithful readers entertained.
Admittedly it’s not really new, but most of you won’t know it.
There’s this black lady who is a regular customer at the store. (No, this is not another boss story!
)
She always does these weird things with her hair, like piling that incredible mass up or tying it up in a scarf of the American flag.
Anyway, she always smiled at me when seeing me at the store or elsewhere. Really friendly lady.
Only, since… er… two years ago she’s smiling even wider. Well, ok, not as much as the first few times, but I feel it’s still a bit more than it used to be.
The reason? I don’t know!
I was just returning from an annual festivity 30km from here. As I couldn’t have the car, I was going back by bus. And when I got on, there she was, riding home as well, giving me the widest smile ever and greeting me.
I am sure her reaction was totally unrelated to the fact that I happened to be wearing a mildly medievalish blouse, leather pants and no shoes and was carrying a sword and dagger….

Perhaps the lady finds you attractive. Sword and dagger? Interesting! Am I correct in assuming that you enjoy creative anachronism? I used to have a couple of friends that enjoyed dressing up in medieval costume. One of them even made his own chain mail. As for me, I did my sword wielding in a strictly imaginative sense by way of role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. My favorite character was a rather powerful Druid. He was a friend to trees and animals and a demon to any who disrespected his woods!

The annual festival is a medieval market of some sorts, not a roleplaying meeting thing.

not much of a fan for medieval stuffs, more of far east (japan) samurai fan.. yeah, much more!
to each his own, what can i say!

David: I very strongly doubt that she finds me attractive; she’s just a nice person, and now she has decided that I am funny. Hm.
Anyway, she was at the store today, and she was decidedly pregnant.
I know a couple of (ex-) role playing ppl, but that is not my cup of tea; when I was invited to join the last role play I declined.
And like Frenzie said, it’s a medieval market. I once posted a few blurry pictures of me practicing the few sword strokes that Birger, the Saxon, had shown me.
looky here
That was really fun, although I went home with a very interesting sword blade thick bruise on one thigh….
AnaRki, I am indeed amazed to see you here without me baiting you. Would it be too much to expect a new post from you as well now….?

Melantrys, thanks for the link to your medieval excursion. You seem to be enjoying your combat training!
Are you sure Birger is a Saxon? His plaid raiment is more suggestive of a Celtic origin. *displays academic pretentiousness*
Another of my favorite characters was a gnomish thief. I think that he would have been just tall enough to cut your purse string and make off with your loot!
I am actually an ex-role player, too. It has been quite a few years since I rolled any ossified polyhedrons.

Oh yeah, it was fun indeed.
Well, I dunno about medieval clothing orders, all I know is that this is how he introduced himself to me: “Ich bin Birger, der Sachse.” Mayyyybe he was referring to the German county though, haha. Which would make him Celtic all right.
Anyway, you thieving little gnome, you did read about me having a sword and dagger, yes?
You know what’s sad? So far today you have been the only visitor to this blog. *cries big mournful tears*

Well, I would laugh too… Mel in leather lants with a medieval shirt and a dagger *lol*… in a bus!!!
*i would be a little bit scarded (as bus driver)*
Anyway, next time you could ask her! Or I will ask.

Little flea, er, grashopper, you should think about this for a while. You might need another favour one of these days, so don’t annoy me….
Oh, and the bus driver seemed to be aware what weekend it was; at least he didn’t look puzzled or scared.
Talking about da shop, I gotta tell you a story, kid, lol!! And I will, but in person I’d say. Or on MSN maybe?
Oh, and @ AnaRki: I saaaawwwww you, even if you didn’t comment!

“Anyway, she was at the store today, and she was decidedly pregnant. :)”
probably just playing hard to get!
“I know a couple of (ex-) role playing ppl, but that is not my cup of tea; when I was invited to join the last role play I declined.”
What kind of role play are we talking here?….
